What this bill actually does

More events could qualify for special treatment under this bill. It covers natural events, some human actions meant to copy natural events, and other rare human actions, but not normal stagnant air, temperature inversions, or pollution from sources breaking the rules.
The bill creates a new label for wildfire-prevention work. It covers prescribed burns and similar steps done under state-approved practices to lower wildfire risk and severity.
