Cookie Policy

This page explains how ModernAction uses cookies, browser storage, and similar technologies to keep the service working, remember state, and measure or debug product usage.

Last updated: April 14, 2026

1. What This Policy Covers

We use cookies and similar technologies such as local storage, session storage, and session replay or analytics identifiers. Some of these technologies are always needed for the service to work, while others are only used when a specific tool is configured in the environment running the app.

2. What We Currently Use

Essential and Security Cookies

These technologies support sign-in, session integrity, and core product behavior. Current examples in this codebase include:

  • Auth0 session and authentication cookies
  • Google One Tap cookies such as g_csrf_token and a temporary return-to cookie used during sign-in recovery
  • The ma_intro_dismissed first-party cookie that remembers whether the homepage intro has been dismissed
  • Temporary state used to bridge login redirects, profile sync, and pending action completion

Analytics, Measurement, and Debugging

When enabled, we may use analytics or debugging tools that rely on cookies or similar identifiers. Current tools reflected in the code include:

  • Google tag for ads conversion measurement and optional Google Analytics 4
  • PostHog client analytics when a PostHog key is configured
  • FullStory session replay when a FullStory organization ID is configured

Browser Storage We Use Alongside Cookies

Some app state is stored in the browser rather than in a cookie. The current app uses local storage or session storage for things like:

  • Form-draft preservation and action-flow progress
  • Search session identifiers and temporary UI state
  • Saved dismissals, onboarding flags, and return URLs
  • Saved ZIP code or profile-sync bridge data
  • GA4 de-duplication and debug flags

3. Why We Use These Technologies

We use cookies and browser storage to:

  • Keep users signed in and protect account flows
  • Prevent CSRF and other abuse during authentication or submissions
  • Remember dismissals, saved progress, and other product state
  • Measure sign-up, outreach, and product usage events
  • Diagnose bugs, performance issues, and reliability problems

4. Your Choices

You can control or clear cookies and browser storage through your browser settings and site-data controls. If you block or remove these technologies, some parts of ModernAction may stop working correctly, especially sign-in, saved-progress, and message-completion flows.

ModernAction does not currently provide a custom in-product cookie preference center. For now, browser controls are the primary way to manage cookie and browser-storage behavior on the site.

5. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy as the service, providers, or legal requirements change. When we do, we will update the effective date on this page.

6. Contact

For cookie or browser-storage questions, use our contact page and include "Cookie Policy" in the subject line. You may also want to review our Privacy Policy.
