Officially: Protecting Sensitive Locations Act
Federal immigration officers would face new limits near schools, hospitals, churches, shelters, and many other public places. In most cases, they could not take enforcement action there or within 1,000 feet unless there is an emergency or a rare preapproved high-risk case. If officers break the rules, the evidence usually cannot be used in the related deportation case.
